Privacy Policy

Effective June 11, 2026 · Applies to wxdecoder.com. The METAR Master app and metarmaster.com have their own policy at metarmaster.com/privacy.

The short version

No accounts. No sale of data. No ad-tracking SDKs. When you paste a METAR or TAF on the home page, it is decoded in your browser - the text you paste is not sent to our servers.

What we process

• Airport pages and live weather. Opening an airport page (like wxdecoder.com/KDFW) requests that station's public weather from our servers. Standard server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) are retained briefly for reliability and abuse prevention; they are not tied to any identity.
• Launch notifications. If you give us your email address to hear when the METAR Master app launches, we store that address (on a shared METAR Master / wxdecoder list) and use it for exactly that one announcement. Email support@wxdecoder.com any time to be removed.
• API use. Requests to our public decode/weather API are logged like any other request (station requested, IP, timestamp) for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

What we don't do

• No selling or sharing of personal data.
• No accounts, no third-party advertising, and no cross-site tracking.
• No storage of the weather text you paste into the decoder.

Data sources

Live weather comes from NOAA/AviationWeather.gov. Reports shown on this site are public data.

Children's privacy

wxdecoder is suitable for general audiences but is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. See Age Suitability.
